I often get emails from eager pet lovers asking me what it’s like to run a [TYPE OF BUSINESS, LIKE ‘DOG WALKING,’] business like mine. I always am flattered to receive these emails, because I remember just starting out - and man that shiz aint easy!
Today I wanted to share 3 of the most important lessons I’ve learned since starting this biz:
1️⃣ Trust Your Gut
One of the things that I didn’t do at the beginning was trust myself enough. After [X] years in business, I am much better at tuning-in and listening to that little voice inside. It’s rarely wrong!
2️⃣ Be Kind
You never know when you’re going to run into customers 😂 This is especially good advice while driving if the name of your business is on your car (I’m not someone who suffers from road rage, but man, have I heard some horror stories about this one!) Honestly you never know what someone is going through behind the scenes – it is often easier to be kind to animals than people - but it’s always the right thing to do.
3️⃣ Be Generous
A bit like #2 - I have always held a position of generosity in business (and in life). This is why we have a [X] policy (INSERT SOMETHING HERE YOU DO IN YOUR BUSINESS LIKE A GENEROUS REFUND POLICY OR SATISFACTION GUARANTEE, EXTRA LITTLE GIFT WITH LARGE ORDERS, ETC.] We are always interested in making sure our customers feel comfortable and confident that they will always get great service - so we have no problem putting a [GUARANTEE, ETC.] behind it.
